President's Welcome

Welcome to Berkshire Community College

You have joined our community of learners for various reasons. The wide range of our academic programs, evening classes that can be taken after work, distance learning opportunities, convenient locations, and our affordability are just a few examples.

Some of you have come directly from high school; others after a long period of work and raising families.

Most of you are from Berkshire County. Some of you are from nearby locations in Connecticut, New York, and Vermont. Others are from Central America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. We celebrate whatever differences you bring to our campus. They enhance the dialog in the classroom and enrich student life.

Regardless of your background, at BCC each of you will discover a college of faculty and counselors, support staff, and administrators committed to your success. You will find excellent teaching, and many faculty and staff who also traveled your path as former BCC students.

You will find peer, professional, and online tutoring in subjects where you want to gain a better understanding.

You will find library resources from around the world and supportive librarians to help you navigate them.

You will find a student government association that advocates for you, and various clubs and organizations for your special area of interest.

At BCC, you will find high standards of achievement, because we know that where you come from is less important than where you are going. You will receive outstanding preparation for further education, your first or a new career, or a better job - or any combination thereof.

We're glad you've joined us in the teaching and learning adventure at Berkshire Community College. We look forward to sharing it with you.
