Paterson Recreation's mission is to enrich the experience of students at BCC through
safe and always-improving facilities and programs. Serving and engaging students,
faculty, staff, and the greater Berkshire community, Paterson Recreation provides
opportunities to learn and reinforce healthy behaviors, build relationships, develop
leadership skills, and pursue goals.
Paterson Field House maintains a fitness center, basketball court, turf field, two
grass soccer fields, three adult outdoor tennis courts, two youth tennis courts, and
an outdoor pool that is open during the summer. Day lockers are available for all users.

Paterson's Adventure Program provides programs, events and equi p.m.ent to get Paterson
Recreation users into the outdoors. Unless noted all Adventure programs are free and open to any BCC students, faculty, staff, Paterson users, and BCC Alumni and
their families. If events fill priority will always go first to BCC students. Also
if any event requires equi p.m.ent that you don't have reach out and we may be able
to provide it.

Jiminy Peak Mountain Adventure Saturday, September 27 Kickoff the year by sliding, riding and ziplining with fellow BCC students at Jiminy
Peak. This Adventure Park has many fun options, but only a few spots so look out
for registration information the week before the trip. Registration to be posted on September 17th
Ashuwilliticook Rail Trail Bike Ride Friday, October 3 BCC Adventure is renting bikes from Berkshire Outfitters – we hope you will join us
for a fun Fall ride. Registration to be posted on September 24th
Catamount CataMonster Zip Tour Saturday, October 18 Zip through the forests on the highest zipline in Western MA on the 3rd Paterson Adventure
trip of the semester. Registration will be posted on October 8th
Central Rock Gym Trip Friday, November 21 No experience necessary for this fun trip to a Rock Gym. You can learn the ropes
of how to boulder and rock climb, though it can be addicting! Registration will be posted on November 12th

Practical Pilates Fall 2025 Instructor: Autumn Bragan September 2-December 9, 2025 Saturdays 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. & Tuesdays 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. Location: Paterson Gymnasium Cost is FREE if you are a BCC student, staff or Paterson member Registration Link Ab-chiseling and total body defining moves choreographed to music. This mat-based
workout challenges individuals to rhythmically flow from one exercise to the next,
developing a rock solid core while leaving no muscle untouched. Beginners welcome!
Yoga Fall 2025 Instructor: Taylor LaRochelle September 3-December 10, 2025 Mondays & Wednesdays 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. Location: Paterson Gymnasium Cost is FREE if you are a BCC student, staff or Paterson member Registration Link This class moves at a slow and easy pace; moving through a series of gentle movements
connecting your breath to your body, improving relaxation, flexibility and recovery.
It offers a more mindful and restorative practice, perfect for beginners!
Exercise, Nuitrition, & Meal Prep Presentation Presenter: Michael Carnevale October 7 & 8 2:00pm-3:15pm Location: The Connector A presentation on the essentials of strength training and conditioning, gain insight
and tips when it comes to meal prepping and basic nutrition. Q&A discussion to follow
after the presentation. Attending this presentation has been approved for forum credit.
A great opportunity to learn some fundamentals surrounding these topics and work towards

Intro to Fitness Instructor: Michael Carnevale October 14-November 16, 2025 Tuesdays 9:00 - 10:15 a.m. Thursdays 3:00-4:15 p.m. Location: Paterson Fitness Center Registration Link Jumpstart your fitness journey with our 4-Week Introduction to Fitness Program! Join
us Tuesdays and Thursdays for a comprehensive mix of cardio, strength training, and
core exercises, beginner-friendly class designed to help build foundational strength
and knowledge. Spots are limited.
Open Recreation hours are open for drop-in play for any Paterson members or guests.
If no one shows up for drop-in play the court may be used for other purposes, but
if anyone comes in hoping to play that sport during Open Recreation hours that sport
will have priority on the court.
SAIL is a 12-week class offered twice a week. It is an evidence-based program that
focuses on balance, strength, flexibility, and endurance for people 65 and older.
All classes can be completed standing or sitting and can be modified to promote individual
fitness needs. Classes are taught be licensed Physical Therapists or Physical Therapist
Assistants who have been certified in SAIL.

For the Fall 2025 session, the SAIL program is free for Paterson members, or a $60

The Paul E. Raverta Tennis Complex is open from dawn until dusk each day.
Berkshire Mountain Pickleball has two of the courts reserved 9 am-Noon on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and Fridays.
In recognition of his leadership and love of the game, the tennis facilities at BCC
were dedicated in honor of the college's 6th president, Dr. Paul E. Raverta. The complex
boasts three standard adult courts and two "10 and Under" courts for children. Two
of the adult tennis courts are lined for pickleball as well.
The Paul E. Raverta Tennis Complex, which is open to the public, was made possible
by the Berkshire Bank Foundation, Berkshire Bank Foundation — Legacy Region, Petricca
Industries, USTA Western Mass, USTA New England, and USTA National.
