Representative Smitty Pignatelli Scholarship

Representative William “Smitty” Pignatelli, a lifelong resident of Lenox, Massachusetts, has dedicated 22 years to serving the Massachusetts Legislature, representing the third Berkshire District. Known for elevating constituent services to an art form, Smitty shows genuine care for every resident in his district. He passionately advocates for the needs, desires, and aspirations of Southern Berkshire County, especially championing increased educational funding.

To honor Representative Smitty Pignatelli, a generous couple established the Smitty Pignatelli Scholarship. This scholarship will be granted annually to students residing in the third district who have exhibited a commitment to pursuing a degree or certificate at Berkshire Community College and have shown an interest in community engagement and civic duty. Scholarship funds can be utilized for tuition, fees, books, and educational materials. Should students not require scholarship support, the fund will be used to provide paid internships in municipal government.
