Students nominated to the All-USA Academic Team
Berkshire Community College (BCC) students, Alicia Starsja and Soncere “Starr” Williams, were recently nominated to the All-USA Academic Team. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and community college presidents co-sponsor All-State Academic Team recognition programs in 38 states each year.
Students nominated to the national All-USA Academic Team are automatically named to the All-State Academic teams. To be eligible for nomination, students must have earned a minimum cumulative college-level GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.
Each year, BCC can nominate two students to the All-USA Academic Team. This years’ nominees are Alicia Starsja and Soncere “Starr” Williams. Both are Student Ambassadors, Phi Theta Kappa officers, and members of the Human Services Club. Starsja is also on the Board of the Berkshire Benevolent Association for the Blind. Williams also works in the BCC Student Engagement Center.
Starsja and Williams will be recognized at the 2019 Phi Theta Kappa All-Massachusetts Academic Team Ceremony on Tuesday, April 2, at the Massachusetts State House.
The All-USA Academic Team recognizes high achieving college students who demonstrate
academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that
extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society.
