Celebrate Earth Day at BCC

Earth Day 2025

Earth Day events will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Connector. Campus Green Up begins at 8:15 a.m. in the quad. Sign up to volunteer!

Schedule of Events

11 a.m. – noon

  • Birds of Prey: The Massachusetts Bird of Prey Rehabilitation Facility cares for and rehabilitates injured raptors for eventual release back to the wild. Meet with Tom Ricardi who will bring several birds from his facility to campus!

noon – 2 p.m.

  • Bee Experts: Are you ready to bee amazed? Join us for a hive-tastic chat all about the impact of bees and how you can help pollinators thrive!
  • The P.E.B.E. Project: Listen to the Phytoeuphonia Botanical Ensemble hosted by Linda Merry
  • Green Team: Build solitary-bee lodgings from mostly recycled materials and sign up to join the BCC Green Team
  • Make a Salad: Students can make their own salads using locally donated lettuce from the Aquaponics Lab at the Sheriff’s Department and hosted by Essential Needs Navigator
  • STEM: Students can make Earth Day keychains from our 3D printers
  • Students for Recovery: Earth Day Rock Painting
  • Mass Pirg: "Save the Bees" – Show support for protecting our pollinators and taste honey
  • Respiratory Club: Bake Sale and Gnome Raffle
  • SGA: Create an air-dry clay pressed flower "trinket tray" or ornament

  • Assemble in the quad at 8:15 a.m. and then set out on tasks in groups

  • Pizza for Campus Green Up volunteers who signed up in advance
