Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

This project is funded through the Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund (WCTF) FY’21-FY’22 Appropriations and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 through the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development and is administered by the Commonwealth Corporation.

What is a Registered Behavior Technician?

A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is trained to help children and adults learn positive skills and behaviors. Under the supervision of a BCBA, RBTs help to implement behavioral interventions and other supports to help individuals struggling with behavioral challenges.

The 40-hour RBT training program provides instruction on many topics, including Behavior Anaylsis Basics, Data Collection and Measurement, Verbal Behavior and Behavior Reduction, Functional Assessment, and Reinforcement, and Ethics.
