community. Creating space and place for you to see yourself here and understand more

and community care. Let's reflect, ask questions, share perspectives, and hold space

Trans Day of Remembrance
Date: Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024
Time: 2 – 3 p.m.
Location: Melville 317
Transgender Day of Remembrance is observed on Nov. 20, 2024 and is dedicated to honoring
the memory of transgender individuals whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender
violence. This day serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by the transgender
community and highlights the need for continued efforts to achieve equality and justice.
Join us for an hour as we read the names of those who have lost their lives to violence.
We are seeking volunteers to help read all the names. Please contact Jay Miller at

Bring your favorite traditional dishes and celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of
BCC's diverse heritage. All people, cultures, and recipes from around the world are

TRIO Talk: Your Voice Matters!
Date: Wednesday, Oct. 16
Location: TRIO Center
Time: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
This workshop will explore how clarifying our values can inform decision-making and
how participating in community and amplifying our voices are strategies for remaining
civically engaged at this critical inflection point. All BCC members can participate
in this call-and-response prompt at any time; submission boxes can be found in TRIO
and Student Engagement.
Domestic Violence Awareness

Join the Elizabeth Freeman Center to learn about healthy relationships and how to
help a friend in need. Learn about the resources EFC can provide. Sponsored by Personal

Intersex Awareness Panel (Hybrid on Zoom)
Date: Wednesday, Oct. 23
Location: Melville 317
Time: 1 – 3 p.m.
Intersex Awareness Day is internationally observed on Oct. 26 to highlight human rights
issues faced by intersex people and to stand in solidarity. Join us on Wednesday,
Oct. 23 to hear from panelists and learn how you can support this growing movement.
This discussion will also celebrate the incredible and historical achievement of the
United Nations' vote in April 2024 to instill human rights protections for intersex
individuals. Please register here.
Cultural Appropriation vs. Appreciation Workshop

Join us for a dynamic workshop, "Cultural Appropriation vs. Appreciation," where we'll
explore the crucial differences between respectfully embracing diverse cultures and
appropriating them. Through shared language, engaging discussions, and real-world
examples, participants will gain insights into cultural dynamics and learn practical
strategies for meaningful reflection. This workshop is great for anyone interested

BCC Boo Bash and Craft!

Location: BCC Amphitheater (weather permitting, to be held in the Connector)
Time: 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Join us for a Spooktacular evening at our Boo Bash and Craft event! Bring your friends
and family to the BCC Amphitheatre (weather permitting) on Oct. 30 from 3:30 – 5:30
p.m.. Enjoy ghostly games, eerie snacks, and creative craft stations. Dress in your
favorite costume for a chance to win exciting prizes! There's something for everyone
at this frightfully fun celebration. Don't miss out on the thrills — come for the
boos and stay for the crafts!
Student clubs are encouraged to sponsor a craft or activity table.
