STEM Starter Academy at BCC

The Berkshire Community College (BCC) STEM Starter Academy Program is geared toward incoming freshman interested in high-demand careers in a variety of STEM fields. Each cohort of STEM Scholars will gain transition-to-college skills and develop college success strategies that will give them the tools they need to be STEM-ready in college and in the workplace.

On-Campus Opportunities

The BCC STEM Academy includes two sessions that will prepare students for academic success at BCC and beyond — the Summer Success Program and the Fall Support Program. The program also includes Spring Career Events after winter break. All are held on BCC's Main Campus.

Math Coaching

Math Coaching is available and recommended for students who may need or want to boost to their fall mathematics placement and courses. This is highly recommended for students whose programs of study, such as Engineering and Computer Science, require calculus as Accuplacer is required to obtain that placement. Math Coaching may also be helpful for students who have difficulty with math and/or seek extra support.
