Orientation Leader 2026/2027
Position Overview
As an Orientation Leader at BCC, you’ll play a key role in supporting new students and their families during their transition to college life. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the BCC community while developing valuable leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Through various experiences and events, you’ll have the chance to make a positive, lasting impact on new students while gaining excellent résumé-building skills. This is a paid position.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a welcoming ambassador for BCC, representing the college with pride.
- Serve as a positive role model for new students and their families.
- Deepen your knowledge of BCC’s campus, programs, and services.
- Lead engaging campus tours for new students, prospective students, and their families.
- Represent BCC at major Orientation events such as Welcome Week and Falcon Fest.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing New Student Orientation and related activities.
- Introduce new students to BCC’s services, campus facilities, policies, and student life.
- Follow up with new students to ensure they feel supported and connected.
- Work with a diverse range of students and family members from various backgrounds.
- Share helpful tips on academic success and student involvement.
- Assist with office-related tasks as needed.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism in all interactions.
- Demonstrate strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit leadership, initiative, reliability, and enthusiasm.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Show a positive, energetic attitude, always striving to provide excellent customer service.
- Participate in leadership training sessions.
- Most importantly, have fun while making a meaningful difference!
Availability Requirements
Must be available for two summer training sessions (dates to be determined), Fall Orientation on Sept. 3, 2026, and Spring Orientation on Jan. 21, 2027.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a current BCC student.
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Ability to work flexible hours and commit to the full term of the position.
- This position will run for a one-year cycle, from July 2026 to May 2027.
